Through the creative lens of Bangarra, awaken your knowledge of place, sound and spirit as you watch this digital stream - available until 4 June.
Choreographed by Frances Rings, Terrain unravels the shifting temperaments of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre. Terrain embodies the meeting of Spirit and Place in a unique part of South Australia - a place that stays with you long after you have left; it lingers ... like a second skin.
Beyond the ancient vastness we travel through drought and deluge. We witness the ephemeral transformation of place where nature delivers in abundance, promises all but guarantees nothing.
This production features the First Nations' language Arabunna (Western Lake Eyre region).
The Land defines who we are, the way we live - whether we are salt water, fresh water, desert or island people. It is these ties to Country that make us resilient, allowing us to see beyond injustice and adversity, connecting to our ancestral past, and informing our contemporary lives. - Frances Rings, 2017
PLEASE NOTE: Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people should be aware that Terrain contains images, audio, video, quotes and the names of people who have passed away.
Bangarra would like to acknowledge the many people in our family who are no longer here but have left an indelible mark in our cultural and creative continuum.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Arabunna people, whose Country and stories have inspired Terrain.
