Bio

Sian was Lighting Designer for Bangarra's Dark Emu and Associate Lighting Designer for Bennelong.

Sian’s practice in lighting design sees her illuminating performances, architecture, landscape and exhibitions across Australia and overseas.

Over many years, Sian has created work for a variety of high-profile companies and projects including Sydney Theatre Company, Belvoir, Bell Shakespeare, The Banff Centre, Theatre of Image, Circus Oz, De Quincey Co and the 2016 Venice Architecture Biennale, lighting the multi-sensory installation The Pool.

Sian holds Masters of Architectural Science (Illumination Design) from the University of Sydney. In 2010 she became a resident at The Banff Centre in Canada by generous donation of The Lazlo Funtec Scholarship where she continued to develop her artistic practice in the exploration of coloured light and its impact on our experience of environment and human connection.

She has received award nominations for Best Lighting Design at the Sydney Theatre and Australian Production Designers Guild Awards.

Sian is the Founder and Creative Director of LX ART, shaping our environment and inspiring human connection through beautifully lit spaces.
