Galiwinku
Elcho Island is a southern island in the Wessel Islands group, situated off the coast of Arnhem Land. The island is surrounded by the Arafura Sea and Cadell Strait.
Galiwinku is the traditional name for the island, as well as the name of its largest community. The Traditional Owners of Galiwinku are the Yolngu people, whose language is Yolngu Matha.
Elcho Island is the original inspiration for the song My Island Home.
