A Word From Paul Mac

It fundamentally changed my view of this land and people.
Paul Mac

When Stephen Page discussed the idea of collaborating with David on the score for BLAK it felt like a dream come true. I had never created a dance theatre score before and knew only a little about Bangarra’s history and its creative and cultural intentions. It was a beautifully eye-opening experience.

Collaborating with David, recording with Djakpurra, and hearing the stories informing the work made me learn a lot about the rich Indigenous heritage attached to this land and its people. It opened my thinking. I was hooked.

When I was offered a second chance with Beau and Dan on Miyagan from OUR land people stories, I felt proud to be able to add my voice to Bangarra’s amazingly rich body of work.

It was an honour, a privilege, and fundamentally changed my view of this land and people.
