Nandhu (pronounced Naan-du) means ‘to be close’ in Wiradjuri language.

This Nandhu focusses on Frances Rings’ 2012 work Terrain, a powerful and stirring production about the timelessness of Kati Thanda-Lake Eyre and the Arabunna people’s relationship with this sacred site.

Frances Rings


In 2002, Frances made her main stage choreographic debut for Bangarra to outstanding critical acclaim with the Rations. Frances has gone on to create many more works for the company, including her latest, Sheoak, which won Best New Dance Work and Best Choreography in a Dance Work at the 2016 Helpmann awards. In 2019, Frances returned to Bangarra in the position of Associate Artistic Director.
