Our name carries deep meaning. Bangarra is a Wiradjuri word meaning “to make fire”.

By using the Wiradjuri pronunciation of Bangarra, our company honours and respects the millennia of history that has come before us and reinforces our commitment to revitalising, preserving and protecting First Nations languages.
We have worked closely with Wiradjuri language experts and cultural leaders, Uncle Stan Grant Senior, Letetia Harris and Lowanna Grant who have generously shared their knowledge and guided us in understanding the pronunciation, meaning and cultural significance of this word.
