From 2014 - 2018, Bangarra Dance Theatre created a suite of captivating projections designed especially for the Sydney Harbour Bridge’s Southern Pylon as part of Vivid Sydney. The premiere video of created for this suite of installations, The spirit of Patyegarang, marked the first Indigenous contribution to the Vivid Light Walk.

The spirit of Patyegarang commemorates the young Eora girl who befriended First Fleet astronomer, Lieutenant William Dawes, when he was observing the skies from the promontory that now bears his name, Dawes Point.
EORA | 2015
For tens of thousands of years, the Eora people have been custodians of this land which we now call Sydney. This piece transports the viewer back in time to re-imagine the harbour and the great Eora fisherwomen who dedicated their lives to provide for their families.

EORA – The land explores the significance of the natural elements found in Sydney and around New South Wales that are the life force of the Eora people.

EORA – Bennelong is a large-scale projected celebrating one of the most mythologised and celebrated individuals from the days of First Contact.

The captivating projection marries Aboriginal history, dance, art and architecture in a striking visual aesthetic as the world’s largest festival of light, music and ideas celebrates its 10th anniversary year from 25 May to 16 June 2018.
