Karen Norris has extensive experience as a Lighting Designer for theatre, dance, music and film throughout Australia and Europe. She has worked as Lighting Designer for numerous productions and her Bangarra works include the Dreaming, Skin, lore, Terrain, Yuldea and the 2026 Collaboration between The Australian Ballet and Bangarra Dance Theatre, Flora.

Karen Norris has extensive experience as a Lighting Designer for theatre, dance, music and film throughout Australia and Europe. Karen has designed for Sydney Theatre Company, State Theatre Company, Melbourne Theatre Company, Belvoir, Sydney Opera House, One Extra Dance Company, and Russell Dumas - to name a few.
Based in London and Nice from 1998-2008, Karen lit numerous events and venues including Will Tuckett, Liz Lea, Marie Gabrielle Rottie, Mavin Khoo, Sheron Wray DanceXchange, The Place Prize, Valentino's Perfume Launch on the Spanish Steps, Irven Lewis Dance, Tindersticks, and The John Metcalf Band.
Karen also lit Bangarra works the Dreaming, Terrain, lore, Skin and Yuldea. She went on to receive a Helpmann Award nomination for Skin.
Since returning to Australia, examples of her work include; In the Shape of a Girl, Love me Tender, Barefoot Divas, Something in the Way She Moves, Forseen/Darkroom, The Art of Music, On View Sue, Winyanboga Yurringa, and Serious TALK TALK.
