Mitchell J Nalingu Harrison-Currie

Youth Program Team (Alumni)

Mitchell is a proud Aboriginal Man with Mununjali, Bundjalung and Gunggari heritage.

In 2015, Mitchell was a participant in Bangarra’s Rekindling Youth Program. He then went on to expand his studies and creative skills, at the Aboriginal Centre for Performing Arts (ACPA) graduating with an Advanced Diploma of Performing Arts. Mitchell has since performed in a number of independent productions. In late 2020, Mitchell successfully applied for the position of Bangarra Youth Program Trainee for 2021, and is now currently working with the Youth Program leaders bringing Rekindling to more young First Nations people in regional and remote communities.

Mitch is a proud Aboriginal Man with deep matriarchal connections to the Mununjali and Bundjalung peoples of the Yugambeh Nation (Queensland), and also has deep connections to the Gunggari people, with direct links to Country located west of the Gold Coast (Queensland), in and around areas of Beaudesert, Fingal Head just south coast of the Queensland and New South Wales boarders, and lastly further out west of Brisbane to the surrounding areas of Mitchell (Central Queensland).
