Bio

Currently based in Brisbane, QLD, she is completing her Advanced Diploma in Performing Arts at the Aboriginal Centre for the Performing Arts (ACPA). Tjilala specializes in fusion, contemporary and Street dance, seamlessly blending movement, music and spoken word poetry. As an accomplished vocalist who enjoys song writing and music, she often accompanies herself on the guitar.

Tjilala’s extensive training includes various dance styles such as Contemporary, Hip Hop, Jazz and classical training in Tap and Ballet through the British Ballet Organisation (BBO) Tjilala has performed alongside Bangarra Dance Company for Indigenous Round Broncos vs Titans at Suncorp Stadium, performed for the Matilda’s team along the “Maiwar” Brisbane River, performed in front of the prime ministers of Australia and New Zealand at the citizenship ceremony that marked a new direct pathway to citizenship for New Zealanders living across the Tasman, and choreographed dance pieces and performed in ACPA’s Urban Elegance for Brisbane Festival 2024.

Tjilala aims to share her stories through song, dance and spoken word and culture, and continues to uphold the legacy of her elders and First Nations peoples and communities across Australia.
