Mulgrave Island
Badu
Mulgrave Island, also known as Badu, is an island in the northern Torres Strait. Belonging to the Badulgal and Mualgal people, Badu once had a thriving pearling industry, until the trade declined in the late 20th Century. The dominant language on the island is Kala Lagaw Ya; locals also speak Torres Strait Creole and English.
