Nyapanyapa Yunupingu’s Buffalo Story as told by Nyapanyapa herself.

Commissioned by the Mulka Project, this short film captures Nyapanyapa Yunipingu’s retelling of being attacked by a water buffalo in 1975 near her home in Arnhem Land. In 2008, the artist shared this terrifying ordeal on canvas with her famous painting Gatapangawuy Dhawu – Buffalo Story. This painting was the winner of Wandjuk Marika 3D Memorial Award at the 2008 National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Art Awards.
