Damien is an award-winning Lighting Designer working in theatre, opera and dance. Damien has worked with many leading dance companies in Australia and his work has toured extensively around the globe. For Bangarra Dance Theatre Damien has lit Mathinna, choreographed by Stephen Page and of earth & sky choreographed by Frances Rings and Daniel Riley.

Damien is an award-winning Lighting Designer working in theatre, opera and dance.

Damien has worked with many leading dance companies in Australia and his work has toured extensively around the globe. For Bangarra Dance Theatre Damien has lit Mathinna, choreographed by Stephen Page and of earth & sky choreographed by Frances Rings and Daniel Riley.

Other dance credits include Ocho, Grand, Air and Other Invisible Forces, Orb and [AB]intra for Sydney Dance Company, set and lights for Shaun Parker Company’s Am I, lighting design for Tasdance’s Affinity, Chunky Move’s Mortal Engine, Stalker Theatre Company’s Shanghai Lady Killer, Australian Dance Theatre’s Habitus and Be Your Self and The Australian Ballet’s Murphy, Romeo and Juliet, Firebird and The Narrative of Nothing.

Damien’s career highlights include Neil Armfield’s productions of The Ring Cycle (Opera Australia) and Exit The King (Malthouse Theatre and Belvoir) on Broadway; Graeme Murphy’s Swan Lake (The Australian Ballet); Australia’s most successful subsidised-theatre show ever Keating! The Musical (Belvoir); and Birdbrain (Australian Dance Theatre) which played over 60 venues around the world.

More recently, Damien has designed Madama Butterfly (Opera Australia), Cinco & Neon Aether (Sydney Dance Company), Oscar and Lucinda (Sydney Chamber Opera) Counting & Cracking and Things I Know To Be True (Belvoir).

Damien has won several Sydney Theatre and Green Room Awards for Best Lighting Design as well as an Australian Production Designers Guild Award for his work with Opera Australia.
