Visual art has always been at the core of our creative process but with these works the choreography has been devised around the spirit of objects. Commissioned by Bangarra’s Artistic Director Stephen Page, of earth & sky features the work of celebrated Choreographers Frances Rings and Daniel Riley.

About

Artefact by Frances Rings evokes the spiritual significance of Aboriginal customs and cultural practices forged over millennia. Riley by Daniel Riley channels the photographic series ‘cloud’ by acclaimed Wiradjuri artist, the late Michael Riley, and his observations of the resilience of Aboriginal people.

of earth & sky premiered in 2010 as a double bill which included Riley and Artefact.
