Bio
John Matkovic worked with Bangarra Dance Theatre as Head Technician and Head Mechanist, Set Designer and Prop Builder from 1999-2002. After graduating from Charles Sturt University Wagga Wagga Campus with a Bachelor of Arts (Technical Production for Theatre and Television), John worked at the Enmore Theatre as a Staging Technician and Mechanist. At the Enmore Theatre, John worked on many Bangarra productions which toured the venue, including Praying Mantis Dreaming (1992), NINNI (1994), and Fish (1997). In 1998, John worked as Set and Props Builder and Technician on Dance Clan (1998) and continued to work with the company in a variety of production capacities on Dance Clan 2 (1999), Skin (2000), Corroboree (2001), Walkabout (2002), and Bush (2003).
John's career highlights include working on concerts (Joe Cocker, Massive Attack, Marilyn Manson, James Reyne, Diesel, Ian Moss, Guy Sebastian, Toni Childs, Jon English), dance (Russian Ballet, Moscow Ballet, Sydney Dance Company, The Australian Ballet, Expressions Dance Company, Melbourne Ballet), and circus (Flying Fruit Fly Circus, Circus Oz, Circa).
